Bachman & Turner, Foghat (2012)

Mar 31, 2012

What They Saw

Concert goers at The Good Life Festival at Encanterra couldn’t have asked for a better combination of sunshine and amazing live performances from Foghat and Bachman & Turner. With temperatures close to 90 degrees, both bands joked about the lack of snowfall. The spectacular surroundings of Encanterra Country Club provided music lovers with the perfect setting to experience the good life while shopping local vendor booths, savoring scrumptious Arizona staples, and most importantly rocking out to the sounds of two of rock’s most revered bands. The hottest selling items that day were sunscreen, hats, and passports for the wine and craft beer tasting. Arizonan Steve Ansel set the mood for the day, opening the main stage entertainment with cover songs from the ‘70s and ‘80s. Foghat, known for their memorable live shows, brought the crowd to their feet to dance and sway along to the rebellious rhythm of songs like “Slow Ride.” Rock legends Bachman & Turner kept everyone rocking when they performed for the first time in Arizona since 1978. Everything from the shrimp ceviche tostadas to the fiery performances have become a signature of The Good Life Festival experience. We hope you will be able to join us for our next show April 14 for The Guess Who and Styx. Get your tickets now before it’s too late!

Bachman & Turner

Randy Bachman and Fred Turner turned the world of rock and roll upside down and produced five Top 40 albums and six Top 40 singles between 1970 and 1980. Bachman & Turner soared past their competition and earned a spot in rock and roll history selling more than seven million records in a single decade. Their harmonious blend of acoustics and vocals paired with their fearless desire to push the boundaries of rock and roll to the limits has deemed this group one of music’s finest.

To say That Steve Ansel is eccentric, unique, and intense would barely be enough to describe this fiery bandleader and successful businessman. Fronting a twelve piece band of some of Arizona's finest musicians and playing many styles expressing years of experiences is all part of Steve’s everyday life. “I’m a very type-A personality,” Steve says, admitting that his energy and frenzy fuel his live performances, while coaxing his band to match his intensity. His explosive band has shared the stage with many famous artists including The Four Tops, Gladys Knight, Charlie Daniels, B.B. King, Joan Rivers, Bill Maher, Louie Anderson, and most recently Don Rickles, to name a few. When he’s on stage, his intensity and fervor make his artistry stand out among others. “I’m a showman,” he exclaims, “And this is a Showband.” He works the stage with crowd-pleasing intensity and impeccable musicianship. A self-made man and a cancer survivor, Steve can play many instruments and displays his musical prowess in a recently completed full length CD of his own compositions and a few covers that exposes his creative talent as well as the expertise of his seasoned band.
